Sunset 1 - Pastels

This is the first time I tried a landscape in pastels. My wife liked it the way it is (unfinished) so I'll not add the sand dunes and grasses that are meant to be in the foreground. The reference is a postcard I bought from a gallery. The picture is about A4 size and I used soft pastels. I used pastelmat board for the first time and I was very impressed with how tough and forgiving it is and how many layers of colour you can add.

This was a bit of an experiment and I think I'll be using larger size pastelmat boards in future.
