Description
I haven't done a graphite picture in a while and saw Robin Hedberg's fantastic photo a while ago and thought it the perfect subject to try a few things. My main goals for this piece were:
* smooth shading to emulate mist
* capturing the effect of water ripples
* as close to photo realistic quality as I can get
* patience - using bigger A3 paper - and don't rush it!
This took about 25-30 hours to finish - one of the most time-consuming pieces I've done so far. I used 2-inch grid squares to ensure I got as close to the original photo as possible.
