I used to draw regularly with pastels and pen+ink on cast-off mount card that my parents used to use to frame and mount pictures. But over the years I found I had less and less time for drawing.
In recent years I have been inspired by Imagine FX magazine and started getting into art all over again and that led me to Deviant Art. The art on this website is truly amazing and now I've found a new spark to dig out the old pens, pencils and paper. I also starting using graphite pencils (less messy and forgiving than pastels) and Copic Ciao brush pens with their very broad range of colours from deep, saturated hues to very light pastel shades. This has enabled me to experiment with and learn a whole medium.
DA provides an instant source of feedback to find out if I'm improving and getting things right. So hopefully now I can experiment and improve with every piece I do and I can learn from some true masters here.
